Short Biography:

Abu Hossain Muhammad Ahsan, is an Associate Professor working at the department of Public Administration, University of Dhaka. He pursued his Bachelor and Master’s degree from the same university and subsequently pursued his MPhil degree from the University of Bergen under the Norwegian Government Scholarship Program, namely, NORAD. “Public Policy Implementation” was the broader theme of Ahsan’s MPhil Thesis, precisely, focused on the Policy Implementation Process and Challenges faced while implementing different projects and programs in Bangladesh. Mr. Ahsan received several academic recognitions for his academic excellence including Prime Minister’s Gold Medal for his performance in board level examination.

In addition to his 17 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels he has a vast work experience (in research and consulting capacities) with many international and national organizations including UNDP, World Bank, USAID, CEC (Cambridge Education Consultant), DFID, JICA, GTZ, ADB, The Asia Foundation, Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS)- DANIDA, The Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Bangladesh as well as Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) of the office of the honorable Prime Minister in Bangladesh, LDG, LGED, a2i, NILG, etc. in the fields of local governance, urban governance, election governance, national governance framework, administrative reform, primary education policy, institutional analysis, Social Safety Net Programs, capacity building and evaluation of development projects /programs, policy review and analysis. Mr. Ahsan is also serving as a Councilor (2018 to date), Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and a member of the Asiatic Society, Bangladesh.
